Paul Ramirez, JD is the founder and President of GPS|Global Pharma Strategies. Paul has more than 30-years pharmaceutical experience, including 4-years as commercial General Manager for the former Schering-Plough, based in San Juan, PR. He earned his law degree from Seton Hall University Law School and BBA from Pace University.
Paul is a licensed attorney in the State of New Jersey, retired. Paul is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and resides in the company's headquarters city of Miami, FL.
Luis Vázquez, Executive Advisor joined GPS|Global Pharma Strategies in June 2024. Luis is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive with extensive experience in the Puerto Rico pharmaceutical, OTC and animal health markets.
Before joining GPS|Global Pharma Strategies, Luis enjoyed a successful 44-year career as Director, Pharmaceutical and Animal Health divisions of César Castillo, LLC, Puerto Rico’s largest life sciences logistics provider for U.S. and global pharmaceutical companies doing business in Puerto Rico. Before his retirement from C. Castillo, Luis managed annual sales for his divisions in excess of $250 million in all channels including retail, specialty pharmacies, hospitals, and government health agencies.
Luis graduated from the Universidad de Puerto Rico with a Bachelor Degree in Business, with a concentration in finance. Luis is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and resides in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
Ivonne Marie Ferrer Matienzo, CPA, Advisor joined GPS|Global Pharma Strategies in January 2026. Ivonne is an experienced market access and healthcare strategy pharmaceutical executive specializing in Puerto Rico pharmaceutical payer engagement, product access optimization, and commercial planning.
Ivonne has over 20 years experience in the Puerto Rico pharmaceutical market, most recently as a member of BMS Puerto Rico’s leadership team.
Ivonne has successfully led market access and brand strategy initiatives for highly specialized and successful global brands. She is a strategic leader who excels in navigating through and succeeding in complex reimbursement landscapes, creating date-driven strategies while in the process earning respect with key internal and external stakeholders.
Ivonne’s deep industry insights and solid financial and analytical foundations makes her an ideal advisory partner for our company’s clients seeking to enter and succeed in the Puerto Rico pharmaceutical market.
Ivonne is a Certified Public Accountant graduating from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Ivonne and her family reside in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
